Paul joined Bower Bailey in 2020 from a Top 75 regional legal practice. He has over 25 years’ experience of acting for developers, investors and corporate occupiers both locally and nationally, assisting with their property requirements and strategy.

He also brings specialist expertise in real estate secured lending and has acted for banks, private funders and borrowers on a variety of transactions across all sectors. He has a strong network in the financial services industry, including the high street and challenger banks, boutique lenders and financial institutions, valuers and brokers. Paul is frequently recommended by his peers, including other lawyers, recognising his pragmatic and solution-focussed approach to real estate finance.

In addition he has experience of advising on the property related aspects of liquidations, administrations and LPA receiverships.

Recent work

  • Acted for a challenger bank in relation to their nationwide property portfolio including lease renewals, licences, variations, surrenders, sub-lettings and the acquisition of flagship headquarters premises in London and expansion of premises in Manchester and Birmingham.
  • Acted for a high street bank funding a series of industrial acquisitions for an off-shore investor totalling over £40 million. Also acting for the borrower following on from this on discreet acquisitions using their own funds.
  • Lead contact for a local property developer and investor, assisting with several acquisitions, disposals and financings including the construction, letting and ultimate disposal of three office buildings worth over £20 million and the ongoing management of a mixed use scheme and other assets.
  • Project managing the property aspects of a series of development finance transactions for a regional housebuilder including coordinating banking and construction teams in support, total gross development value of over £30 million

Personal interests

Outside of the office, Paul’s main passion is running; a regular parkrunner, although his next target is the London Marathon. Otherwise, Paul enjoys watching almost any sport, cricket and football being his favourites. He is married with two children and lives in Faringdon.
